Bowling 6th Oct

October 4th, 2011  / Author: Matt

Good monday all!
Not to be confused with mundane, which is by far less great.
Thanks to everyone who came last week, it was good to meet all ye.

So this week we will be having some form of battle between a spearhead formation of 10 assumably wooden crafted pins and a respectivly large almost spherical shiny decimation device. AKA bowling. I have heard evidence it is £5 for two games (with student card). This will be happening down at Pars wood at 8. For those of you who don’t know how to get there there will be persons meeting at 7.15 at the student union, or 7.30 outside owens park. If you miss these herdings you can catch a 142 bus South to pars wood. If the bus stops at a massive cinema complex thing, or almost goes past it get off, and you’re there!
The bus will cost, if I recall, around £1.70 single.

Also in the news is our annual and eagerly anticpated Freshers camp.
Fear not all this is an indoor camp, nice and warm and friendly and relaxed.
The estimated prelimanry cost is £25 and includes meals from saturday through to sunday. This may go down is lots of people attend, which we hope you all will!
The friday typically involves a takeaway dinner (not included in price) and a visit to the pub for karaoke, although this is being looked into as we are at a hall we havn’t been too before and don’t know the locale all that well. The main event on Saturday will be Afternoon Tea with all the trimmings and probaly some timeless classic scouty games. On Sunday we may have a quick trip down to Abney Hall.
If you would like to come please email me with your interest and any dietry requirements.

Thats all for this week! O, and next week will have a bonus format

Epic BBQ

June 5th, 2011  / Author: Matt

Hello Hello Hello!

Yes this weeks email is a whole ONE DAY early because I’m terribly bored and want to revise tomorrow and this will take up a good 10 minutes of my time, and thats just too much :O *later addition, this took half an hour*
Well as you know by the time it is Thursday this week exams will of FINISHED
OH MY OMGOSH
Well obviously this needs some kind of celebration, and it’s a SSAGO tradition to have a BBQ as it should be summery weather….if it isn’t we’ll pretend it is!
“So a BBQ you say?” you say?
Well here are some guidelines to what you should expect.
Its BYOM(OOBFSYMDTC). For those of you who don’t speak random acronyms thats Bring Your Own Meat (Or Other Barbeque Food-Stuffs You May Desire To Cook)
There should in theory be some “kebab stuff” (God know’s what this means, whether its stick and assorted cubed vegetables or whatever) and some salady stuff provided so that isnt needed.

Obviously this BBQ is happeneding somewhere, it couldn’t happen nowhere, unless nowhere is somewhere, then I guess it could. But I’m assuming nowhere is not somewhere and that not somewhere doesnt exists, therefore it must happen somewhere…..the specifics of this somewhere can be found hidden in the address below (I say hidden…its the address)
36 Victoria Rd (Tom Follands House, so you know)

In a similar style obviously this BBQ is happening somewhen, but I’m not going into the details of the logic, just that it starts around 5.30 for cooking at about 6 (p.m obviously, no early BBQ breakfast for us…although thats a damn tempting idea….)

Anyway thats all the details for the BBQ.
But here are some shoutouts – o we love our shotouts. PLEASE READ AND ACT =D

Summer Rally:
this is the 8th-10th July. Heres a FB group with details: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_125742854103828

Expo:
Expo is bloody soon! (11th-16th June) If you want to come letting us know is appreciated. There is a FB group for it here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=222719844412238
If you are down as attending you are assumed to be attending and thus do not need to let us know… =]
I Imagine there will be details going out nearer the time when we have a finalized POA

Diving:
Our member Dale is organising a diving trip in tenerife from 9-16th August (probably). If you are interested give him some form of message….here is his email:
padijow@gmail.com

I Belive that is all, and for your information because it’s annoying me everytime I start a new line it goes into bloody underlined! Stupid assuming email system!
Anyway! Good luck with final exams those of you in this situation, and we hope to see you all at les BBQ =]

St. Patricks Day

March 14th, 2011  / Author: David
O hi guys!

This week, as some of the more observant of you may have noticed, our SSAGO meeting lies upon St Patricks Day.
Obviously we CANNOT ignore this, any fortunetely a member of our wonderful society has offered to cook us some Irish stew (as a “pre-drink buffer”)
This will be consumed at the “Scout House”. If you don’t know how to get there I shall meet people at the bus stop by the job centre along the curry mile at 7.25 (ish) to take you there =]. If you do know the way there make said way for around 7.30.
It is highly likely, infact: certain, that we will move on afterwards to an Irish pub or some pub thats Irishy….in all honesty I don’t know where yet. But it matters not!

So meet me at pre-stated bus stop or us at Scout House for funtimes and foodtimes =]
